Experience
I started tutoring when I was in high school and it was an important part of my receiving an International Baccalaureate Diploma. I tutored in many different Science and Math subjects. I also tutored in college, again teaching my students in Science and Math classes. I believe that if you can demonstrate to students how excited you are about a subject that it will get them engaged and enthusiastic about the subject, too. I try to create a fun learning atmosphere that allows students to relax, learn at their own pace, and enjoy the learning process. I tutor in the areas of Algebra 1-2, Calculus 1-2, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Trigonometry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, Genetics, Pre-Algebra, Geometry, Math, and Science. I also do test preparation and coaching for the International Baccalaureate program. I use real world examples to help explain concepts and problems. Science and Math subjects can be frustrating and intimidating, so I want my students to feel less pressure when they are learning and to focus more on the material. I attended Park University in Parkville, Missouri, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. In my spare time I love to go to concerts, read, or go for a run. I'm also a big supporter of Kansas City sports.
