Experience
I am enrolled at the University of Kansas, where I'm studying Economics and am in the Honors Program. I spent my time in high school enrolled in mostly Honors and Advanced Placement courses. My teaching interests and abilities include various subjects of Math (from elementary to advanced levels), History, Economics, English, Art History, and others. To me, the key aspects of teaching are engagement and enrichment, and I work to keep students invested, interested, and stimulated. I believe it is important for educators to work as diligently as students, and to understand the act of teaching as its own learning process. As part of my teaching practice, I develop ways to present students with the material, while also offering strategies for finding solutions and critical thinking (which are both also useful life skills). I love teaching math and test preparation most of all because these are areas where I can track students' improvement and assist them in learning how to solve problems and grasp new ideas. My interests outside of education include ice hockey, policy debate, football, forensics, and music.
